Whatever thoughts have been on my mind will probably end up here. Updated weekly, but perhaps more initially as I throw in some older things.

If your business was a car.... - Original Post Feb 5th 2010

Seth Godin recently wrote that your business should have manoeuvrability (although he spelt it strangely).

I'm not sure I agree. Yes, for some being able to respond to changes, to emergencies and to demands rapidly is important. The Red Cross respond fast to emergencies, they don't nned to adapt so quickly when it comes to their admin operations, or possibly, their fundraising..

All businesses need to evolve, to develop to suit the market and their clients, but not every business needs to be able to change direction like a Lotus. Maybe your business needs to be economical, like a Polo Bluemotion. Maybe it needs to be big, brash and bold, like an American Muscle car.

Maybe you need to ability to take your business anywhere and to deal with the rough and the smooth, and life's knocks, so it needs to be rugged like a Landie or maybe it needs to be uber-child-friendly, like a Citroen C3 Picasso.

Perhaps your business isn't for everyone, and is ultra-exclusive. Or it might be all about the image - you can pick your own example here.

If your business was a car, what would it be?
